SUMMER PROGRAM
NATIONAL OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP SCHOOL
Running in The New York Times, Outside Magazine and Harvard Alumni Magazine, it was the non-profit brand’s first-ever, national advertising campaign funded entirely by a private donor.
As part of their summer recruitment campaign, NOLS spoke to parents and students alike with these open letters, printed on weathered topographical maps complemented by actual, un-retouched action photography. The aesthetics were further brought to life with various imagery breaking the boundaries of the paper ads, reinforcing the copy’s theme of pushing past personal limits and comfort zones in order to personally evolve and professionally grow.
